2-oxoglutarate dehydrogenase, mitochondrial; 2-oxoglutarate dehydrogenase (E1) component of the 2- oxoglutarate dehydrogenase complex, which mediates the decarboxylation of alpha-ketoglutarate . The 2-oxoglutarate dehydrogenase complex catalyzes the overall conversion of 2- oxoglutarate to succinyl-CoA and CO(2) . The 2- oxoglutarate dehydrogenase complex is mainly active in the mitochondrion . A fraction of the 2-oxoglutarate dehydrogenase complex also localizes in the nucleus and is required for lysine succinylation of histones: associates with KAT2A on chromatin and provides succinyl-CoA to histone succinyltransferase KAT2A .

Each tissue–gene association is based on a text-mining score, which is proportional to 1) the absolute number of comentionings and 2) the ratio of observed to expected comentionings (i.e. the enrichment). These scores are normalized to z-scores by comparing them to a random background. This is represented by stars, each star corresponding to two standard deviations above the mean of the background distribution.
